The hardest role Kim Basinger ever played? A corpse in the video for Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”.
In the video, Petty plays a mortician who dresses up Basinger’s dead body in a gown and dances with her. She told Vulture the role was tough to play because “I had to be absolutely dead weight, and that can be dangerous”. The actress revealed that Petty himself had requested her for the video. – which she happily accepted because she was a huge fan.
