Metallica’s Black Album 30th Anniversary box set will be out soon – and Jason Newsted got the first chance to unbox one. The band posted an ‘unboxing video’ on YouTube, with ex-bassist Newsted opening up the massive 25-disc set – which includes 6 vinyl LPs, 14 CDs, and 6 DVDs of material, along with a 120-page hardcover book and other goodies.
Newsted was seeing the box set for the first time. He also shared a few behind-the-scenes stories about the album, such as James Hetfield’s habit of keeping the lyrics a secret from the rest of the band.
