A new study says playing video games can offer a boost to mental health – especially for older adults. Researchers at the University of Utah have begun using video games to help treat depression among people over the age of 60. The games are specially designed to be “interesting and palatable to older adults”.  They say patients can begin to think and act differently after about two weeks. In some cases, the games proved more effective than antidepressants.

What kind of effect do video games have on your brain?  Are certain types of games more beneficial than others?
