Two weeks after he underwent gastrectomy surgery, Exodus drummer Tom Hunting is “cancer-free.” That’s according to Hunting’s bandmate Gary Holt, who made the announcement Monday on Instagram. “Tom has been home for around a week now, is doing very well despite the pain, is eating real food but also adjusting to a new relationship with food and a new way of having to eat,” Holt writes. “But he’s a rock in all this, strong as hell and he’s gonna crush this. And he is cancer-free!”

Hunting has been battling stomach cancer since March. In July, the drummer said, “I can’t wait to travel the world, playing music, enjoying every moment of this crazy journey.”
