15 Year-Old Absolutely Nails ‘Black Hole Sun’ Cover on American Idol

Just wow. As American Idol broadcasts its 19th season critics, and ratings, might argue that the show is past its prime, but every once in awhile the show produces a gem like this. Contestant Casey Bishop performs Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” for her American Idol Top 16 performance and absolutely nails it.

The 15 year-old singer from Estero, Florida wowed judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan with her rendition of the grunge classic. That’s a pretty impressive group to impress.

[Spoilers ahead for those behind on the show]

Labelled a “danger’ to her competitors by judge Perry, the young singer’s performance would earn her a spot on in the next round of the competition.

Bishop would celebrate making it to the next round with an equally amazing rendition of “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals.
