“Mark it eight, dude!” You never know what internet content is going to make a splash and go viral. It could be a four-year-old playing the violin, or maybe an eighty-year-old singing opera. Or maybe it’s a stunt that goes terribly wrong, causing hours of laughter for the world to enjoy.

A video that caught our eye, and the eyes of directors in Hollywood, is a single-shot drone recorded at a bowling alley in Minnesota. The 90-second video took 10-12 attempts to get exactly right at Bryant Lake Bowl, and was filmed and produced by Rally Studios. We couldn’t help but think of the greatest bowling movie in the history of all movies, The Big Lebowski while watching it (and keep your ears open for a couple of TBL quotes).

It’s mesmerizing. Even the director of Pixar’s Coco has taken notice, saying it was “one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.” Anthony Jaska, the director, said, “There’s no CGI. That was kind of interesting. But also the positive nature of it — people seeing the skill that it takes and the unique ability it takes to combine the skill of an amazing pilot, the technology of a drone, and the story that can actually be told through a one-take.”
