Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Cover T. Rex’s “Jeepster”

Joan Jett & the Blackhearts made an appearance on the Late Late Show with James Corden this week and played their version of “Jeepster” by the famously unique T. Rex. The reason for the appearance is to promote the recently released album, AngelHeaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan and T. Rex, which is a full album of covers by Perry Farrell, Sean Ono Lennon, Elton John, Joan Jett, & the Blackhearts, U2, Todd Rundgren, Devendra Banhart, Kesha, Father John Misty, Beth Orton, Lucinda Williams, and more.

“A wide-ranging cast of wizards and cosmic dancers have joined together to re imagine Bolan’s work – sometimes in radical fashion – resulting in a collection that is less tribute than bold new work” says Shore Fire Media. Check out the full press release about the album here. Get your own copy of the album here. Mark Bolan was an English musician and lead singer of the band T. Rex, and also a trailblazer of the 1970s glam rock scene.
