A previously planned observation of #BlackOutTuesday occurred as rock stars continue to express their sadness and heartache this week over social media.
Did you see that hashtag on social media on Tuesday? Did you not see a profile picture on many of your social media friends?
Here’s why.
Tuesday was a planned protest that was originated from inside the music industry by Brianna Agyemang and Jamila Thomas. Both are industry marketing directors and both are black women who together organized for June 2 as a day of pause in “the long-standing racism and inequality that exists from the boardroom to the boulevard”
It began and was planned for insiders of the music industry but became a social media trend.
Here are some rockers and other musicians that observed #BlackOutTuesday
Guns N Roses
Slash
Aerosmith
Ozzy Osbourne
Vince Neil
Nikki Sixx
Jimmy Page
Axl Rose
Eddie Vedder
Bret Michaels
Brian May
