Trent Reznor calls President Trump ‘a complete f–ing moron’

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor spoke with The Village Voice in a long-form interview about his new EP, recent shows and also shared his views on life and the current political state of the country.

“Clearly I find it…disheartening,” Reznor said about the current voice of the country. However, as a small-town Pennsylvania-kid growing up, Reznor said he relates with those whose voices may not have been represented.

When you’re not in an urban environment, you often feel left out of the conversation, and I get that. I grew up in that.

He uses that thinking to help formulate how he talks about President Trump with his kids. Reznor thought back on a conversation he had with his six-year-old son: “Donald Trump is a bad guy, isn’t he?” asked his son.

Look, I don’t think he’s a good guy. Some people do. I don’t think he believes in science and I don’t think he believes people should be treated decently and I don’t think he tells the truth. That’s why I don’t like him.

Away from his kids, Reznor didn’t hold his tongue on how he truly feels about Trump.

It’s tough, because the president of the United States is a complete fucking moron. That’s what gets me the most — that he’s this vulgar, grotesque dope, everything I hate in people.

Reznor also recently made headlines for meeting a terminally ill fan at FYF Fest in Los Angeles after fans raised money for her to go see Nine Inch Nails play live.

Nine Inch Nails released their EP Add Violence digitally on July 19 and the band’s next show is scheduled for July 30 at Panorama in New York City.
