Metallica Replaces Stolen Instruments For Their Tribute Band

Metallica tribute band Blistered Earth was in Portland for a concert April 23rd when their instruments and equipment were stolen. They lost amps, drums, guitars, pedals, and other gears, as listed in a Facebook post last week:

The press covered the mishap locally and news eventually made its way to the original members of Metallica. The band offered to replace all of Blistered Earth’s missing equipment. Apparently, Metallica empathized, having their gear stolen early in their music career as well.

Says Blistered Earth’s drummer, “They have a firsthand knowledge of how shitty this feels. But, I never thought it would come to this. It’s pretty awesome that they would do that.”

We’ll be playing Metallica every hour of the day for May-Tallica Weekend May 5-7th. Metallica will be playing on Monday, August 7th at AT&T Park and Outside Lands on Friday, August 11th.
