Dice Roll Contest
Official Rules

KSAN/107.7 The Bone, Susquehanna Radio Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cumulus Media Partners LLC, its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, will conduct the Contest substantially as described in these rules, and by participating, each participant agrees as follows.

1) NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE DOES NO INCREASE ODDS OF WINNING. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law, and subject to applicable federal, state and local laws.  Odds of becoming a Bonehead Workforce finalist depend upon the number of participants attempting to qualify.  Odds of a qualified finalist winning the grand prize dice roll contest (see below) are 1:46,656.

2) Eligibility requirements: This contest is open to all legal U.S. residents who: (i) are least eighteen (18) years of age, and (ii) reside in one of the nine Bay Area counties consisting of Sonoma, Napa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, San Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties. Employees, officers, directors, partners, and agents of KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone, Susquehanna Radio Corp., Cumulus Media Partners LLC, their affiliated entities, other Bay Area radio stations, contest sponsors and each of their respective agencies, representatives, and their immediate family members, and those who reside with such employees are not eligible to participate in or win any prize associated with this contest. The term "immediate family members" includes spouses, parents, siblings, grandparents, children, grandchildren and cohabiting significant others. Other restrictions may apply.

3) How to Enter: Beginning on Monday, May 19, 2008 and continuing through Friday, June 20, 2008, or until terminated by the announcement of KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone, log on to the web at www.1077thebone.com and click on the link for the ‘Bonehead Workforce’ contest, filling out the entry form with all required information. Active participation begins when KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone receives the name, home address, and phone number of each contestant via on-line entry. Only entries via the 1077thebone.com website will be accepted. Limit of one (1) entry per person, per valid email address, and per household for the duration of the contest.
Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, damaged, or for any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these rules, or for any entry not submitted or received due to any technical error or failure, unauthorized human intervention, inaccurate capture or mis-entry of any required information, or the failure to capture any such information or effects of hackers or failure of any electronic equipment, computer transmissions and/or network connections; all of which will be disqualified. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize.  Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant's entries and that participant may be disqualified.  No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted.  Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void. 

In the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these Official Rules. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address.  All entries received become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.

4) How to Win Bonehead Workforce & Qualify for Grand Prize Dice Roll Contest:
(i) Every hour, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am through 5:00pm PST during the course of the contest, KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone will select a name at random from all entries received up to that date and that name will be announced on KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone. KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone reserves the right in its sole discretion to determine the time within each hour that the name will be announced. Each contestant whose name is announced on KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone will have (10) minutes from the time of the first announcement of their name to call 1-888-303-BONE (2663) and be placed "on the Bonehead Workforce clock." Once placed "on the clock," the contestant begins "earning" or winning $100.00 per each full hour that he/she is on the clock until he/she is replaced by another winner who hears their name announced on KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone and contacts KSAN-FM/107.7 within ten (10) minutes from the announcement or the contest ends. Calls to any other KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone phone number will not be accepted.
(ii) An individual who is still "on the clock" at 5:00pm on any giving business day shall go back "on the clock" the next workday morning (9:00am Monday – Friday) and continue to make $100.00 each whole hour, 9:00am through 5:00pm weekdays, until replaced by another winner or until the contest ends.
(iii) Winners will be placed on a weekly random drawing to be held on selected Fridays for the awarding of diverse prizes. The specific prize for a selected Friday will be announced by KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone on air during the week preceding that Friday. The name of each random drawing winner will be announced Fridays anytime during the 5:00pm hour during the five weeks of this promotion.
(iv) In the event two (2) or more individuals with the same name call in, only the individual who can be verified by a home address which identically matches the information on the randomly drawn entry shall be declared a winner and placed "on the clock."
(v) Station will also award a "tank of gas" ($50.00) randomly as a bonus to one lucky person per day. A designated sound effect will be played at random once per day and if that person whose name is announced that hour calls back, he/she wins the bonus. If he/she does not call back, the person from the hour before will get the bonus. The exception to this is if the person from the hour before has already won a "tank of gas" from the day before. Only one "tank of gas" per person. The "tank of gas" bonus will be in the form of an extra $50.00 added to the total "earnings."
(vi) If, by reason of error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a random drawing to award the advertised number of prizes. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.
(vii) Each eligible winner during the Bonehead Workforce contest will be qualified as an official finalist to participate in the grand prize Dice Roll contest (see below) for the chance to win the Dice Roll Grand Prize.

5) Grand Prize Dice Roll Contest:
A maximum total of (100) finalists will be qualified to participate in the grand prize dice roll contest event.  Each selected finalist must be present at the date, time and location as specified by sponsor to participate in the grand prize contest (scheduled for 6/28/08 at a location to be determined and announced in the San Francisco, CA metro area).  Selected finalists will be notified of the contest time and location.  Any finalist who fails to appear by the required deadline will be disqualified.  Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to change the date, time or location of the grand prize contest.  Selected finalists will be notified of any changes.  Only the finalists selected and notified by sponsor will be eligible to participate.  All other entrants are ineligible.  Finalist selection and participation is non-transferable.  No other individual may participate on behalf of a selected finalist.  Difficulties with getting to location to enter or participate in the contest are not the responsibility of KSAN 107.7 and its sponsors.   
In order for a dice roll contest grand prize to be awarded, an eligible finalist must print and sign their full name on the first unoccupied line of the provided official finalist registration form prior to their dice roll attempt. Each finalist will receive a maximum of two (2) dice roll contest attempts.  Finalists will roll in the order as solely determined by sponsor.  In order to claim the grand prize, an eligible finalist must roll all 6 dice provided by Sponsor and have each die come to rest with the predetermined winning side face up, on a single roll attempt.  (Finalists may not combine letters from individual roll attempts.)  The winning symbols for this contest are: C-A-R-G-A-S. 
Eligible dice roll attempt requirements include:

  • All dice roll attempts must occur in the presence of the contest administrators, and must be recorded on video tape in its entirety.  Any dice roll attempt not in the presence of the contest administrator, or that is not video taped for any reason will be disqualified and is not eligible for the grand prize;
  • Contestants will not be permitted to take any practice or warm-up tosses prior to their attempt. Once a die has been rolled, their attempt is considered to be started.
  • Each eligible contestant must roll all 6 dice all at one time.  Contestants may not attempt to change the outcome of any rolled die, by hitting the die with a subsequent roll attempt;
  • Each die must be tossed in a completely random manner that does not allow the contestant to “set” or “slide” the dice, alter or influence the random outcome of the roll;
  • Each die must be rolled a minimum of 2-feet in distance from the contestant, in order to prevent the contestant from altering, affecting, influencing, or enhancing the random outcome of any roll.  The contest administrator will designate the demarcation line that each die must cross during the roll;
  • All dice must come to rest lying flat;
  • All dice must land on and remain on the designated dice rolling surface;
  • No rolled die may come in contact with any person or object other than the designated rolling surfaces or walls.
  • If any die comes in contact with another person or object (other than the dice roll surface or designated walls or backstop) for any reason; or if any person or object in any way interferes, alters, changes, influences or affects the random outcome of the roll, then the entire attempt is disqualified and the contestant may not receive another attempt.

The following will result in the contestant being required to re-roll their entire dice roll attempt:
If any of the following outcomes occur, that dice roll attempt is disqualified and the contestant will be granted a maximum of one re-roll attempt (the contestant must re-roll all 6 dice):

  • If the contest administrator deems that any die has failed to cross the dice roll demarcation line;
  • If any die is leaning in any manner; 
  • If any die leaves the designated dice roll playing surface;
  • If any contestant inadvertently drops a die as they are preparing to roll, and the dropped die does not meet the eligible dice roll requirements as stated in the contest rules.

In all circumstances, an eligible contestant may have a maximum of one re-roll attempt.  In the event of a second ineligible dice roll, their entire dice roll attempt will be disqualified and the contestant will not be eligible for any prize claim regardless of the outcome of their roll.

6) Prize Awards & Delivery:
Bonehead Workforce Winners:
Contestants selected for the Workforce can win $100.00 per whole hour during the designated contest hours, with no limit to how much money may be accumulated. No percentages of money will be awarded for fractions of hour.
Bonus Prize Drawing – Bonehead Workforce:
The bonus prizes for the Workforce weekly drawings may vary in assortment and value. From time to time, additional bonus prizes may be available and will vary during the term of the contest. Bonus prizes are not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize.
Grand Prize Dice Roll Contest:
In the event of a successful dice roll attempt by any eligible finalist, that finalist will be eligible to claim the grand prize subject to approval and verification of compliance with these Official Rules.  The grand prize award is as follows:  2008 Hybrid vehicle with a maximum retail value of $25,000 (including sales tax), and Free Gas for Life, awarded in the form of gas cards equaling $75,000 in total value (based upon an approximate calculation of $36 in gas per week x 52 weeks per year x 40 years).

Dice Roll contest winning contestant, if any, must accept delivery of prize vehicle from Sponsor designated dealership.  Sponsor will solely designate and specify available vehicles including make, model, color and options for contestant’s prize selection.  Selected vehicles must be one of the sponsor designated vehicles currently in designated dealer’s stock of inventory.  If the designated vehicle’s MSRP is below $25,000, the finalist will not receive the difference between the actual vehicle’s MSRP and $25,000.  All other costs related to prize delivery and acceptance are the responsibility of winner including but not limited to taxes, title, insurance, license, and registration fees.  Prize is non-transferable and no cash redemption or prize substitution allowed, except at sponsor’s sole discretion or as provided herein.  Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize becomes unavailable. 

Eligible dice roll contest grand prize winner, if any, will receive the prize within approximately 30 days from verification of their grand prize winning attempt.  Sponsor reserves the right to award any portion of the dice roll contest grand prize in the form of a cash payment in the amount of $100,000 in its sole discretion.  A maximum (1) grand prize will be awarded.  In the event of multiple grand prize winning dice roll attempts, the cash value of the grand prize will be evenly split among all eligible grand prize winning finalists.  In the event there is no eligible finalist who successfully completes the grand prize winning dice roll requirements according to these official rules, then the dice roll grand prize will not be awarded.

Dice Roll Contest Event – Bonus Prize: 
In the event that there is no eligible finalist who successfully completes the grand prize dice roll contest requirements, then the sponsor shall award the eligible finalist who has successfully rolled the most winning letters during a single attempt on one of their dice roll contest attempts a bonus prize, subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules.  The dice roll bonus prize award is as follows:  1-Year of Free Gas, awarded in the form of gas card with a maximum value of $2,500 (based upon an approximate calculation of $48 per week x 52 weeks).

A maximum (1) dice roll bonus prize will be awarded.  In the event of any tie among eligible finalists at the conclusion of the dice roll contest (i.e. each contestant has rolled the same number of winning letters), then Sponsor shall conduct a 'Roll-Off' among the tied contestants.  Each tied contestant shall receive one (1) additional roll of the dice.  The contestant who rolls the most winning letters during the 'Roll Off' will be declared the bonus prize winner.  In the event of a remaining tie after the first Roll-Off attempt, the process will continue until there is only one contestant remaining who will be declared the bonus prize winner.  NOTE:  The grand prize will not be awarded for any contestant who rolls all 6-dice face-up during a bonus prize Roll-Off contest attempt.

The following requirements will apply to all prize winners:
KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone reserves the right to substitute any listed prize with a prize of equivalent or greater value. Winners will receive a winner form, W-9 and Supplemental Earnings Form in the mail from KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone. Each winner must complete these forms and return them to KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone, 55 Hawthorne Street, Suite 1000, San Francisco, CA 94105, attention: Promotions Department / Workforce. Bonehead Workforce winners will receive a check in the mail in approximately six to eight weeks. All checks will be issued by Susquehanna Radio Corp.-CMP and mailed via the U.S. Postal Service to each winner’s address, as provided to KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone in the respective cash winner form. Should KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone not receive the winner form from a specific winner within thirty (30) days from the date of mailing, the prize for that winner shall be forfeited to KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone. If a winner does not meet the eligibility requirements for the contest at the time of prize conferring, he/she will be rendered ineligible to claim the prize, will be disqualified as a prize winner and the prize shall be forfeited to KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone.
Winners must provide their social security number upon request. KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone reserves the right at any time to award the prize to another eligible individual whose name will be drawn at random in the event the prize, for any reason, cannot be utilized by the original Winner or in the event the original Winner does not meet eligibility requirements. Persons are eligible to win one prize per household, depending on the value of the prize. If the prize value is between $0.01 and $599.99, the winner is ineligible to win another prize for 30 days. If the prize value is between $600.00 and $999.99, the winner is ineligible to win a prize in any KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone-sponsored contest for 6 calendar months. If the value of the prize is $1000.00 or greater, the winner is ineligible to win a prize in any KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone-sponsored contest for 1 year (365 days).
All prizes must be redeemed within thirty (30) days of winning. If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified, the Company reserves the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner’s prize, in its sole discretion. The Company is not acting as the manufacturer or distributor of any prize awarded. The Company makes no warranties with respect to any prize.
KSAN/107.7 The Bone, Susquehanna Radio Corp., and Cumulus Media Partners LLC and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives shall not be responsible for the failure of participating sponsors to deliver prizes as promised.  Sponsor assumes no liability or responsibility in connection with the safety or performance of any prize awarded hereunder nor in connection with any warranty or representation therewith.

7) Odds: The odds of being drawn for the Bonehead Workforce will depend on the number of eligible entries received by KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone. The odds of winning the weekly random drawing will depend on the number of winners from weekday shifts. The odds of an eligible finalist successfully completing the grand prize dice roll contest requirements are 1:46,656.  KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone and sponsors are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone or other transmission failures of any kind; lost or unavailable network connections; or incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions whether caused by KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone, users, by any equipment or programming utilized in the contest, or by human error which may occur in the processing of submissions, which may limit a contestant’s ability to participate in this contest.

8) Tax Information: ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES, IF ANY, ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNERS. The winners must authorize the deduction of such taxes, if any, from the prize to the extent of the law. THE PRIZES ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE OR REDEEMABLE FOR CASH AS APPLICABLE AND MAY NOT BE EXCHANGED FOR OTHER PRIZES, EXCEPT AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF KSAN-FM/107.7 THE BONE.
Winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, liability, and publicity release and, as applicable, all required tax forms within thirty (30) days of notification of winning the prize; failure to do so will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.  All those who win a prize / prizes valued at over $600.00 will be issued an IRS form 1099 to report their winnings.

9) Waiver: By participating in the contest, each contestant and winner agrees to waive any and all claims for damages for misfortune, death, personal injury, loss of property or property damage that he/she may sustain as a result including and without limitations of his/her participation in the contest or the use of the prize, and to release Cumulus Media Partners LLC, Susquehanna Radio Corp., Radio Station KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone, their respective officers, employees, and agents (“release parties”), all contest sponsors and each of their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with his/her participation in the contest, even though that liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above. All entrants understand that there is no express or implied warranty concerning prize merchandise.

10) Promotional Use: By participating in this contest, all participants and winners grant KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone and its affiliates the right to any video, audio, photographic or print material involving each winner for promotional use and waive any claims to royalty, right or compensation for such use. Please refer to our Privacy Policy at www.1077thebone.com for the handling of your personal information. Each winner agrees to participate with KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone, its designee(s) and advertising agencies in publicizing or broadcasting the winner’s name, winnings, and his/her picture or character likeness without further compensation. All entrants agree to permit KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone to use their name and city of residence as well as the broadcast transmission of information pertaining to their entry, or prize-winning conversations with no compensation.  Participants agree that KSAN/107.7 The Bone may disclose personal information obtained to third parties for purposes of prize fulfillment.

11) Conduct and Decisions: By participating in the Contest, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone personnel. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the Contest, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the Contest and KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone’s decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the conduct or outcome of the Contest is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any event beyond the control of the KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone, KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone reserves the right to terminate this Contest, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as it deems appropriate. All decisions will be made by KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone and are final.
KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone may waive any of these rules in its sole discretion. ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY CIRCUMVENT, DISRUPT OR DAMAGE ORDINARY AND NORMAL OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST, TELEPHONE SYSTEMS OR WEBSITES, OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, KSAN-FM/107.7 THE BONE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12) Miscellaneous:  KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone may substitute prizes, amend the rules or discontinue the contest at any time as announced on the Station(s). KSAN/107.7 The Bone and Susquehanna Radio Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cumulus Media Partners LLC, reserve the right to change any elements of this contest.  KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone disclaims any responsibility to notify participants of any aspect related to the conduct of the contest. For a copy of the rules or a list of winners, visit the business office of KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone (55 Hawthorne Street, Suite 1000, San Francisco, CA 94105) during normal business hours or mail a written request with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope. All entries become the property of KSAN-FM/107.7 The Bone and will not be returned.
