Saturday, 10:00am:

Jeff Galletta of San Jose

"I grew up in the Bay Area (Sunnyvale) in the late 70's and early 80's listening to KOME. And back then, that radio station was everything to my friends and me. We got all our favorite music, news about new bands and the low-down on all the local happenings in the South Bay Area. As a nod to my fleeting youth and in the spirit of 'free-form rock' (something for which KOME was known) I submit not only an era-correct KOME playlist, but also a journey back in time where the only two things that mattered in life were Friday and Saturday nights! Enjoy Boneheads. Enjoy!"

"First off, I called in and got to talk with Pat Travers & the band (twice!!) when they were on the air with the Weedman!! The Outlaws' GG&HTF, simply the best on the road cruising song ever. Just put it in on a long road trip and you'll be there before you know it!! I used to work at Irvine Meadows as a supervisor for security (and) when Lynyrd Skynyrd came on the last show of their reunion tour, I had to see it; it turned out to be the koolest show. Ted Nugent, I saw him play this at the US Festival back in '83. Stranglehold is my all time favorite song!! Wheel in the Sky: First concert I ever saw was Molly Hatchet, Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick and Journey at the LA Coliseum. Journey played their set, then said goodnight and walked up this long platform from the back of the stage to the top of the Coliseum. They got almost to the top, then stopped for about three or four minutes, and turned around while the crowd (100,000) was going nuts! They raised their hands up over their heads, stood there for a minute, then started running down the ramp towards the stage. Back onstage, they played 'Wheel in the Sky' for about 20 minutes. That was my introduction to Rock and Rock and what a show for my first! The last two remind me of one of the best shows I have ever seen: J. Geils, George Thorogood and the Stones! Love my fellow Boneheads and especially love Nikki Black, 'the koolest woman on the radio!'"
