5.) POLLSTAR. com
I always keep this site open when I'm on the air at the Bone. Concert itineraries for everybody's grandmother and dog - often announced on Pollstar before they're advertised here. You can search by Concert, Artist, City, Venue. Very accurate. If you want to know when somebody is coming to town, click on Pollstar. All the latest concert news, too.

4.)BLABBERMOUTH. net This guy must never go to sleep. No story about hard rock or heavy metal gets by Blabbermouth. From Nikki Sixx denying a Motley Crue reunion, to the Dimebag Darrell shooting, to Soul Sirkus drummer Deen Castronova stepping down, they don't miss anything. Set a bookmark for "latest news" and check in every day.

3.) FARK. com This weird kinda news/chatroom is huge fun. We especially like the FARK photoshop contests. Just a lurker, we have shamelessly stolen from it on many occasions.
|
2.) ALLMUSIC. com Another site I always have open at work. Search by Name, Song, or Album and find pretty much everything you want to know about anybody and everybody. What was the track running order on Pronounced Lynyrd Skynyrd? Who wrote Boom Boom Out Go The Lights? How many different versions of Whole Lotta Rosie are there? (editors note: 30 versions) The premier site for info on all types of music. A little slow, though. |
1.) GOOGLE. com What can you say about Google? What can't you say? The undisputed King and Queen of search engines. I use it many times a day, especially "News", "Images" and "Web". And the sponsored links aren't too annoying. Get a Google Toolbar and go nuts! |
5.) EBAY. com Ahhh....the Mighty eBay. I'm a new-ish serious user, but what I like is how everything on the planet is for sale - right there on your computer screen. Great system.
|
4.) IMDB. com International Movie Data Base. Anything you want to know about any movie is right here. Cast listings, awards and nominations, a teriffic trivia section, movie goofs, memorable quotes, and tons more stuff. Plenty of info on upcoming films, DVD's, and movie and TV news. You want to read Roger Ebert's review of Fried Green Tomatoes? No problem. Very up-to-date. Nobody better.
|
3.) RADIO PARADISE. com Eclectic Online Rock Radio, they say. I listen all the time when I'm working on the computer at night. My friend, Bill Goldsmith, started the station up there in Paradise (near Chico) He and I worked together at KLRB in Carmel, my first radio station. Here's a sample half hour: Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil, Patti Smith - Frederick, Dido - Stoned, Death Cab For Cutie - Expo '86, Dave Mason - Look At You Look At Me. No commercials. Listener supported. Beautifully programmed.

2.) MTB REVIEW. com Mountain bikes. Mountain bikes. Mountain bikes. This site has everything - Product reviews, trail reviews, tech chat boards, classifieds, photos, message boards. I also lurk on their sister site, Roadbike Review. com. |
1.) VELONEWS. com My favorite cycling website. I'm on every day. All the latest news and info on bike racing, bikes and training. Crazy, but I also pay for the printed Velonews as well. Extremely current with real-time reports on many of the big European races. Great photos, excellent writers, easy to navigate, and awesome Tour de France coverage. Best feature: Patrick O'Grady's Friday's Foaming Rant. (When they let him out of his cage) |
