Friday, July 18th, 2008 Actor/Comedian Andy Dick was arrested in July 2008 on drug and sexual battery charges. Dick was nabbed in a Murrieta, California parking lot after he allegedly groped a 17-year-old girl and then pulled the teenager's tank top and bra down, exposing her breasts (the incident occurred outside a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant). During a subsequent search, police discovered a small amount of marijuana in Dick's pants pocket and a single Xanax pill for which he did not have a prescription. An "extremely intoxicated" Dick was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on $5000 bail.
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 A routine robbery turned into national news when the robber's disguise was knocked off during a scuffle at a pizza shop in Texas. As worker Stephanie Martinez was getting the money, another worker confronted the robber and knocked his wig and sunglasses off. Stephanie recognized the robber as her father, Benjamin Ramirez, 41, who now faces an aggravated robbery charge. So do Sonia Palacios, Stephanie's 38-year-old mother, and Jose Martinez, Stephanie's 26-year-old husband. Local police say Stephanie isn't a suspect because her husband told the police she didn't know about the robbery. He knew they were going to rob a place, but he thought it was going to be a convenience store.
Monday, July 14th, 2008 Another one bites the dust: For the second year in a row, the Miss USA representative falls at the "Miss Universe" contest. Miss Venezuela may have won the crown for Miss Universe 2008 but the hot topic at the event was Miss USA falling down during the evening gown competition for the second year in a row. Crystle Stewart of Texas was the unlucky girl to take the tumble. See the video below to see how it happened!
