ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Tennessee has struck a four-year deal with 49ers free agent Delanie Walker.
Walker hauled in 21 passes for 344 yards and three TDs for San Francisco in 2012. Nine of his receptions went for 20 yards or more. He added two catches of 20-plus yards in the postseason.
San Francisco utilized Walker in a variety of roles, especially once Colin Kaepernick took over at QB and opened up the playbook.
With Walker on the Titans, Davis and Garrett Celek are the only tight ends on 49ers roster. Celek signed as an undrafted free agent last year and had four catches in his rookie season. He was mostly used during plays involving three TEs and as an extra blocker for running plays.
The 49ers will see Walker on the opposing sideline as San Francisco will visit Tennessee in 2013.
