We mentioned earlier today that the San Francisco 49ers didn't use the franchise tag on safety Dashon Goldson and that he'll likely hit the free agent market.

49ers' fans shouldn't get their hopes up about him returing because ESPN's Adam Schefter says that "Goldson's going to be gone."

Once again, with Goldson looking for $8 million per season, the 49ers won't re-sign him.
