Since I like comics, I tend to download any games that have to do with the Marvel or DC stable of heroes. Since I also like pinball and Zen Pinball is one of my favorite downloadable games in the Playstation Market, I decided to give Marvel Pinball by Zen Studios a chance. While the demo had very little to offer (it only let me play ONE FREAKING BALL), the $10 full version of the game is pretty sweet. It currently offers 4 boards, Ironman, Wolverine, Spiderman and Blade (oddly enough - the higher grossing movie moneymakers of the Marvel bunch). Now, let me just clarify, I'm a casual pinball player.  I don't have the necessary motor skills to be a hardcore player; my typical pinball game last anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes.

The graphics are great and the game play is pretty seamless. The boards are expertly designed and just a lot of fun. The graphics stay true to the comic book attire of the hero and the villains and the voices, while probably a little hokey, definitely add to the mystique of this game.

This is a perfect game for both comic book and pinball fans.  While they don't make any table very easy, these boards will give you just enough success to keep coming back and pumping virtual quarter after quarter into these machines. One excellent thing about Zen Studios, these guys NEVER skimp on downloadable content, so we can soon expect more superhero tables, which some of the great game play that we expect.
