About JAEGER

Getting to Know Your Disc Jockey

The Bernard Pivot Questionnaire (The ones from Inside the Actor’s Studio)

01. What is your favorite word?
Dude. (I don't know about favorite, but it's probably the one I use the most)

02. What is your least favorite word?
Last-call!

03. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Loud guitars. Beautiful and intelligent women. Philosophy.

04. What turns you off?
Belligerence without reason.

05. What is your favorite curse word?

Let’s be honest, there’s only one REAL cussword left – C**t.  So, I would have to say that one.   I rarely ever use it, but now that we’re all so used to hearing f**k, s**t and damn, it's the only word left that truly shocks the ears like a proper cussword should.  Makes me think we need to come up with some new ones.  Any suggestions?

06. What sound or noise do you love?
Fart sounds.  I don’t care what anyone says; it’s still the funniest noise in the universe!

07. What sound or noise do you hate?
Ice scraping. Fingers on a chalkboard. Emo bands.

08. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Gigolo. Ha!

09. What profession would you not like to attempt?

Anything that involves a cubicle and doing the same shit every day.

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
What the fuck are you doing here?  Oh well, come on in anyway.  We’ve saved you a seat over there between Mohandas Gandhi and Jim Morrisson, and across from Hunter S. Thompson.  It’s an open bar, and Jimi Hendrix will be performing at 8.

Jaeger's Bio

"You can catch me on-air Saturdays and Sundays and here and there, filling in for either Steven, Nikki or Joe whenever they're out or on vacation. Feel free to ring me in the studio anytime at 1-888-303-BONE if you want to request a song or talk about rock music, or you can drop me an e-mail at jaeger@thebone.net."

"As for personal stuff...I grew up in Petaluma and Santa Rosa. There's not much to say about my youth, other than that it basically consisted of a lot of loud rock 'n' roll and stupid behavior (how that's different from my life right now, I don't know). After high school I attended Santa Rosa Jr. College, where I figured out that radio was a viable career option, and San Francisco State University, where I got my BA in Radio and Television. "

"While I was at SF State, I started working at a certain San Francisco alternative rock station as a member of their promotions team; you know, passing out stickers at concerts, etc. From there, I worked my way up to an on-air position doing overnights, and then weekends. I spent 3 years on-air there. I've got to say, though, that alternative music was never really my thing. Sure, I dig a lot of the music, but I was always a bit too much of a rocker. What can I say? Straight-ahead, balls-out, rock 'n' roll and metal is my first, and only love. So, when I got the chance to work at The Bone, playing REAL rock music, I jumped on it!"

"So here I am, on the air at 107.7 The Bone, letting my rock-balls hang out (as Dave Grohl would say) every weekend, and filling in for Steven, Nikki, and Joe when they're out, playing my favorite bands, and loving every second of it. "

"One of the best parts of my job, though, is you Boneheads. You are a great group of listeners. It's a big ol' rock 'n' roll community that I'm proud to be a part of. I always dig meeting you guys at events, talking to you on The Bone studio line, or getting those e-mails, so hit me up."

"Oh, and just to save some time, here are the answers to the two most common questions I always receive from anyone who meets me."

Q. How tall are you?
A. 6'6"

Q. Jaeger, like Jagermeister? Is that your real name?
A. Yes, it's my real name. No, it's not like the booze; notice the difference in spelling. They're J-a-g-e-r. I'm J-a-e-g-e-r. They're German. I'm Danish. Similar languages, different countries. Not that I won't join you for a shot at the bar, though. Just be prepared for it. Jaeger + Jager = Bad-craziness.

Life on 10! (and make 10 that much louder)
