The 49ers will open eight, free practices to the public during training camp. The open training camps are free ticketed events with a limit of 3,000 tickets available per practice.
Open training camp practices will feature interactive football drills and games, appearances by members of the Gold Rush, Sourdough Sam, 49ers sponsor booths, player autograph sessions for fans and the unique chance to experience the excitement of training camp in person.
(San Francisco, CA; September 2007) - Paul Tonelli, veteran morning personality for 107.7 The Bone (KSAN Radio, 107.7 FM), has been named by the San Francisco 49ers as their game day public address announcer. 49er fans attending home games at Monster Park will now hear Tonelli’s voice booming from the stadium’s broadcast booth.
Tonelli is one half of 107.7 The Bone’s popular morning show duo of Lamont & Tonelli, and along with super producer Sully, their antics have kept Bay Area fans "rocking and rolling" with laughter for over 18 years.
Tonelli, an avid football fan, spends much of his free time coaching defense for the varsity football team at San Francisco’s St. Ignatius College Preparatory. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Tonelli is a 49er Faithful and has attended many games in the very stadium where he now sits with a birds-eye view of all the action on the field.
"The whole thing seems kind of surreal. I remember selling programs at Kezar as a kid in '69 and '70, and hearing Dave Scofield over the PA at every game until he retired in '86. It's an incredible opportunity and I hope to be able to generate some excitement for the Niner fans during their game day experience. Go Niners!"
Tonelli is also part of 107.7 The Bone’s “Tailgate Party” pre-game show live from "Faithful City" in the parking lot at Monster Park before all 49ers home games. Tailgating fans get the chance to meet their favorite Bone air personalities and 49ers alumni, participate in a number of interactive games and enter to win prizes.
