System of the Down singer Serj Tankian made a special appearance at the Los Angeles performance in the adaptation Game of Thrones: A Live Concert Experience last week, caught on tape by this fan footage. According to Rolling Stone, Tankian gave a clue about his Game of Thrones performance on Twitter:

Tankian lends his highly diverse 4-octave vocal range to the cover of “The Rains of Castamere,” a soundtrack theme song originally sung by The National. Other artists including Coldplay’s Will Champion, Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Of Monsters and Men and Mastodon musicians, and Ed Sheeran all played small roles in the series.

Game of Thrones: A Live Concert Experience scores the cult series for a full-blown music event, with the composer Djawadi leading an orchestra and choir while scenes from the series play on the big screen. The show’s live concert will end on April 2nd in Portland, Oregon but will make a stop at San Jose’s SAP Center on March 29th.  As with the series, July 16th marks the return for Game of Thrones seventh season. Check out the trailer below…it’s everything:
